American West guarantees all of our leather items against workmanship and/or structural defects for the life of the product. American West reserves the right to exclude any damage caused by negligence and/or normal wear and tear. All guarantees are extended to the original owner only.
2. How are the tooling patterns made in the leather?
All of our tooling patterns are created by individual craftsmen using mallets and small tooling dies to create their intricate artwork on the leather. Each tooled product is the culmination of thousands of individual die strikes. Unlike die pressed patterns, small inconsistencies and changes are the proof of an artisan at work.
3. Are American West Accessories Sterling Silver?
Buckle sets, conchos and other silver hardware items are cast in solid brass or zinc, and then lavishly dipped in sterling silver. Since silver has a natural tendency to tarnish and scratch, we add a protective layer of lacquer to assist in retarding this occurrence.

Leather:Please remember, leather is a natural product. Colors and textures may change with use. Like your own delicate skin, your leather accessory will benefit from regular cleaning and conditioning. Please test any cleaning and conditioning product in an inconspicuous area first to test the color changes that may occur to natural leathers.
Cleaning suggestions : You may use leather cleaner (found at local leather/shoe repair shops) to wipe away dust and debris.
Conditioning Suggestions : You may use a leather lotion (found at any local leather/shoe repair shops), apply liberally with a soft cloth, let dry and gently buff with a clean soft cloth.
Some marks may be removed from natural leather bags by using a diluted solution of lemon juice.
Please note that many types of stains and marks are untreatable. This includes, but is not limited to, stains caused by: ink, cosmetics, food stains, oils, body / hand moisturizers, hand sanitizing cleansers or perfumes. However, many oil-based marks will disappear with time as the leather uses the oils as moisturizer.
Silver Hardware : Silver ornaments are cast in solid brass or zinc and then lavishly dipped in sterling silver. Since silver has a natural tendency to tarnish (oxidize) and scratch, we add a protective layer of lacquer to assist in retarding this typical occurrence.
Cleaning suggestions: To clean your silver ornaments, simply buff with a clean, soft cloth. Never use any silver cleaners, jewelry cleaners, or chemicals (this includes jewelry cloths treated with chemical solutions).
6. What is American West’s customer information policy? American West does not sell personal information, including e-mail addresses, to any outside company or third party. If at any time you would like us to delete your registration information from our database, please feel free to contact us. Please be sure to include your email address and full name.
7. What price range does the American West Collection fall into? American West has different product lines, catering to different tastes and price point ranges. The Men's Collection and Lady Ranger Collection feature our high definition tooling patterns. Their prices range from $140 - $250 for handbags and from $200 for briefcases and luggage.
The American West Contemporary Collections (Horse hair finish, Painted Pony, Brindle calf hair, Branding Iron and Oil Tanned leather) typically retail from $80 to $150.
The American West Classic collection is our value-line in hand-tooled leather. Purses retail from $45 - $120. Briefcases and luggage are $130 - $300.
8. What is American West's Return Policy?
We pride ourselves in offering the best in customer satisfaction. Under our Lifetime guarantee, if for any reason you are not satisfied with the workmanship of American West products, we will gladly repair or, if unable to repair, we will replace any item due to manufacturer's defect.

If you have purchased an American West item at a retail store, you may choose to return your item to the store or you may send it to American West direct.
Please keep in mind as the wholesaler we are only able to do replacements, repairs or exchanges we are not able to do retail refunds.

Once received, the defective piece will be evaluated for repair or replacement. We make every attempt to process returns and replacements as quickly as possible. However, the entire process may take 2-3 weeks. Please allow at least two weeks from the date you ship your return before inquiring on your return status.
